As you may have heard, Google has recently announced that they are changing their pricing and licensing for Google Maps starting July 16th, 2018.
After reviewing the full extent and financial impacts of this change, we have made the very difficult decision that we are going to be turning off the embedded mapping functions in Bullhorn Connexys. In the later part of Q3, we will be re-implementing the mapping functions but the user experience will be different. Rather than an embedded map (map that is displayed directly on a record), your users will have the ability to launch a map in a new browser window that is controlled by Google.
However, if you do want to continue to use the embedded mapping features, you will need to sign up for a Google Map API key directly. This way, depending on your usage, you only have to pay for what you use. You can very easily do this here and our support team can help you add your key to Connexys to re-enable this functionality.
We fully appreciate and recognize the impact this change may have from a user experience but after evaluating all the options, these are really the best choices to minimize the financial impact of Google’s decision on you.
