Partial Sandbox explanation
Every Production org has 1 Partial Sandbox available. This type of Sandbox can be refreshed once per week and will copy all metadata, but only a sample of the data up to a maximum of 5 GB of the Production org and a maximum of 10,000 records per selected object. The maximum file storage on a Partial Sandbox is also 5 GB. Partial Sandboxes include all of your organization's metadata and add a selected amount of your production organization's data that you define using a Sandbox Template. A Partial Sandbox is a Developer sandbox plus the data you define in a Sandbox template.
The users on the Sandbox are an exact copy of the users on Production, which also means that the passwords are the same as those of Production. To log on to a newly created or refreshed Sandbox, go to https://test.salesforce.com and add the name of the Sandbox (.sandboxname) after your Production username. Bullhorn does not support this type of Sandbox.
Please be aware that the 10,000 records per selected object are the first 10,000 and unless the objects are related by a Master Detailed relationship or Required Lookup, the sampling application does not pick up related records. This could result in errors when related records are missing. We therefore advise you to not copy the objects where this could lead to errors and insert the data for these objects yourself (f.e. via an import). In the next section, we'll show you the template we advise you to use for a Partial Sandbox creation and/or refresh.
Template for Partial Sandbox
Below two tables are shown; one that only contains the objects that should be selected in the template for a Partial Sandbox; the other one contains all packaged objects and standard Salesforce objects and if the objects should be selected in the template.
Please keep in mind that this advise is based upon all packaged objects and standard Salesforce objects and not on custom objects.
The objects Contact and Account can be selected as long as there aren't more than 10,000 records for the respective object. If there are more than 10,000 records, we advise you to make an export from your Production environment and importing it to the Partial Sandbox afterwards (but keep the data storage limit in mind).
