ATTENTION: End of Support for Salesforce1 on select iOS & Android devices in Winter ‘17

Follow

Following the Winter ‘17 release*, Salesforce will no longer provide technical support, bug fixes or enhancements for Salesforce1 issues that arise on select iOS devices, listed below, and will limit technical support to only Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy Note Android devices.

As an admin of a Salesforce org with Salesforce1 users, we encourage you to notify your iOS and Android impacted device users of this change in support to optimize their future use of the Salesforce1 app.

* Currently targeted for October 2016; date subject to change.

What is changing?
Following the Winter ’17 release, Salesforce will no longer provide technical support, bug fixes or enhancements for Salesforce1 issues that arise on any of the following devices running the Salesforce1 downloadable and mobile browser apps:

iPhone 5
iPhone 5C
iPad Mini 2
iPad Mini 3
iPad 4
All Android phones except for Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 and S7; Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Google Nexus 5X and Google Nexus 6P
All Android tablets except for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Samsung Tab A 9.7

What action do I need to take?
Inform your Salesforce1 users of this change in support. While existing iOS and Android device users can continue using Salesforce1, we recommend that you encourage unsupported device users to upgrade to a Salesforce1-supported device to optimize their usage of the Salesforce1 downloadable and mobile browser apps.

Why is this change happening?
We are focusing our efforts on supporting the latest iOS devices to continue improving our overall Salesforce1 for iOS user experience. Due to the wide array of available Android devices, we are targeting our support to a select number of Android devices to continue improving our overall Salesforce1 for Android user experience.
